Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help us create a trauma informed courtyard garden to be used as a life skills opportunity for special education students. Many of our students are multilingual learners who have diverse learning needs and benefit from hands on opportunities. Our hopes are to continue to build this courtyard and teach students to grow and nurture their own garden. Many of our students do not have years space of their own to be able to learn about gardening, this will provide them with equitable opportunities. In addition, many of our special education students to have sensory difficulties and bendir from the healing properties of outdoors. Our current courtyard space is overgrown with no space for students to grow or partake in gardening.
