Transparent Learning

My project needs transparencies and markers.

I've moved on up to the third grade. My 2nd graders from last year are going to have to "put up" with me for one more year. They are such a wonderful group of students and I knew I would miss them dearly. When the opportunity came for me to move up with them I took it. But that also means that all the visual tools they had in 2nd grade need to be recreated with the 3rd grade curriculum. Since there are 24 of them and only one of me, the class relies heavily on the overhead projector. We model writing, draw maps, label science diagrams and do math problems all on transparencies so that the whole class(no matter where they sit)can see and understand what is going on. It worked so well for us in 2nd grade and I would like to be able to continue it for them in 3rd. I would like to have kids complete problems at their desk on a transparency and then have them put it on the overhead projector and explain it to the class. Their knowledge of any subject increases when they teach it to others. I would love to use transparencies as another tool to get my students to develop a love for writing. I want to give them an opportunity to write their stories on a transparency and then put it up on the overhead for the whole class to read. They get so excited about doing their best work when they have a different/fun way in which to express themselves. We appreciate your helping supply our classroom with these versatile tools.
