Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach science to all of the 4th and 5th graders at my school. This year we have a lot of ELL students who do not speak any English. It is very tricky trying to Google Translate worksheets and directions so that they are able to stay in step with everyone else.
After looking online, these translators will help in real time when I am giving directions that it will go right to the headphone so that they can understand what I'm saying.
A lot of times they are confused and frustrated because of our language barrier and I'm hoping that this will help them feel much more comfortable in my classroom and get the most out of the day. I'm also looking for a charging port so that I can charge all of the translators and utilize them every day.
