Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'm reaching out for assistance in acquiring translator devices for my English learners, as these tools can greatly facilitate their transition into our country. Many of our incoming students arrive with minimal English proficiency, which poses significant challenges as they integrate into our school system.
The translator devices would serve as invaluable aids, allowing students to navigate classroom tasks more effectively.
Whether it's translating worksheets or comprehending textbook materials that aren't available in their native language, these devices will play a crucial role in their academic journey.
While the main goal is to foster English language acquisition, it's equally important for students to actively participate in classroom activities alongside their peers. These devices will help them to do so, promoting inclusion and engagement within the classroom environment.
Furthermore, given the diverse cultural backgrounds of my English learner students, language barriers often impede their ability to form connections with their classmates. By providing translator devices, we aim to break down these barriers and encourage meaningful interaction, ultimately nurturing friendships and social integration.
