This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Over the past few years, our student population has become quite diverse. This beautiful melting pot adds a great deal of open-mindedness, acceptance, and compassion for other cultures to our student population. With students from Latin America, Haiti, Brazil, West Africa, and other countries too numerous to mention. Our school is truly a wonderful representation of our country.
Although our school has a great multicultural community, we lack some of the necessary tools like Spanish-English dictionaries, Chinese-English dictionaries, Vietnamese- English dictionaries, and Portuguese- English dictionaries, which greatly impact students' ability to communicate as they transition through the stages of learning a new language.
Students now to be able to find the meaning of words that they need to know right at their fingertips.
With this project, these dictionaries will open communication channels for many of our students. Since we have a great deal of English dictionaries, some trade books for our English speakers are always a welcome option.
