My city has seen a surge in diversity. The student population of my school is changing. The new students are English Language Learners. Most of the newcomers speak little to no English and they cannot read English. We are not a language school so we have to teach in English.
My goal for this project is to have devices that can read, write, and translate from English to the language of the new student.
The technology would make the classroom environment easier for ELL students and English-speaking students to interact.
My kids look forward to coming to school. I promote a very positive zone-free space for my students to feel comfortable and welcomed. My kids show positivity with new students of all backgrounds. I love the way they are taking the initiative to learn ways of communication.
