Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the youngest students in the primary center. This is their first experience in a school setting. When they come to school, they are clearly eager to learn. Because of their young age, I need to be very creative in planning instruction in order to keep them motivated and interested.

Our school is located in a low economic area.

100% of the students are Title 1 and qualify for the Free Federal Breakfast and Lunch program. Most of my students come from families who do not speak English. My transitional kindergarten students are enthusiastic about learning and always try their best. I have seen their language, social and academic skills grow everyday. They have shown me that they have the potential to exceed all expectations.

My Project

My students need basic materials such as paints, erasers, ink pads, and glue sticks to make their learning experience as rich as possible. They also need manipulatives such as sensory tubs and concept games that will help them develop their language and concept skills. With the fun filled fishing games, students will be able to practice number and letter recognition.

As a transitional kindergarten teacher, I feel I have to provide my young students with a rich learning environment that will motivate their learning.

This is their first year in school and they are extremely eager to learn. I want to create a passion for school that will continue with them through their academic career. Please help me support this project that will provide my students with the essentials needed to run a fun and successful school year.
