This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) special education teacher, I collaborate with a Gen Ed teacher to create a supportive, engaging learning environment for my students, many of whom face developmental delays or learning disabilities. To better meet their diverse needs, I am requesting a donation through DonorsChoose for a Smart Board, an essential tool that can transform how my students learn.

A Smart Board will allow me to create interactive lessons that engage all of my students, regardless of their learning style.

Many of my students benefit from hands-on, visual, and auditory experiences, and the Smart Board’s features would enable them to actively participate in lessons, improving fine motor skills, attention, and engagement. The ability to display vivid images, videos, and animations would help make complex concepts easier for my students to understand.

The Smart Board also offers flexibility for differentiated instruction, allowing me to tailor activities to each student’s unique needs. This personalization is particularly important in a special education classroom, where students' abilities vary widely. Additionally, it encourages collaboration, enabling students to work together, build social skills, and learn from one another.

This technology would be an invaluable addition to my classroom, helping me provide the best possible learning experience for my students. Your donation would help make this vision a reality and give my students the tools they need to succeed.
