I am the k-5 school librarian. My students come in all levels of abilities. It's all about teaching them good behaviors socially and educationally. I want to model reading for a lifetime and to encourage them to shine.
My students love coming to the library.
It is a place where they can decide to read what they want, be who they want to be, and learn at their own pace. All are welcome at anytime. My students deserve the best.
My Project
This project is going to create an inviting, relaxing atmosphere in the elementary library. The students deserve a safe, accepting place; one that they can fall into a great book and become who they want to be or discover new worlds.
With your help, the students will be able to relax in a comfortable, welcoming environment that they can call their "home away from home" while they are here at school.
All children deserve a place to learn at their own pace and the library is one place that does just that.
The fun furniture that I have chosen will add vibrant color to our reading area. Currently, the area is a rug that has seen better days. I want to encourage reading, individually and shared, and this furniture will help me do that.
