My kiddos are one of a kind! I like to think that my classroom is one of a kind as well! We are a school of 600 kids in a rural area in Wisconsin and 18 of those kids get to spend their days with me. My students are the reason I wake up in the morning to go to work and the reason I stay up late at night trying to find the next "big" thing. My job is to help them have positive learning experiences. I love the expressions on their faces when they learn something new! I look forward to working with my little students every day and hopefully helping them become little men and women that will make a positive impact on our world.
My Project
I want to create engaging spaces for my students to help build their math skills. In order to do this, I'd like to transform my classroom into a variety of different themes. To begin the year, we are going to do a LEGO STEM theme to help team bonding so the LEGO glasses will be used for that. We will be having a glow in the dark math day where the spy pens and mustache disguises will come in handy for math problems. We will also be having a red carpet event to celebrate their achievements in math and so the red carpet stanchions will be used to create this setting. Finally, we will be having a shark week theme this year that will include lots of fun math activities. The shark door curtain will help set the stage for this transformation. All of these items will be used to help promote the love of math! I can't wait to see how excited the students will be!
