Transforming Math with Mario!

My Students

Children are not an important part of society, but the most important part of society! My class is filled with students who are eager to learn; however, they need additional tools to help along the way. My students have a variety of needs and backgrounds.

My students are challenged to see the fun and purpose in all that we do.

The learners in my classroom deserve a classroom that brings our their best learning through real world situations and problem based learning.

My Project

These materials will be used to transform the classroom into a Mario themed adventure. These supplies will be used to create an Mario environment paired with measurement skills for students.

Research shows that if students are engaged in a meaningful learning environment their ability to retain the material is greater.

The decals and plates will be scattered throughout the room and from the ceilings to give students the allusion of being dropped into a Mario experience. Through this room transformation, students will learn how to convert metric units of measurement, convert customary units of measurement, and solve real world scenarios.
