This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Gifted with the ability to organize their high school accomplishments into a comprehensive portfolio, 11th-grade AVID students at a Title I school will experience a transformative advantage in their college preparation journey. This invaluable portfolio equips them with a tangible showcase of their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and personal growth throughout their high school years.
By meticulously curating their portfolio, students not only demonstrate their commitment to excellence but also gain a deeper understanding of their strengths and areas for improvement.
This process fosters self-reflection and goal-setting, empowering students to present themselves confidently to colleges and scholarship committees. Moreover, it instills a sense of ownership and pride in their accomplishments, reaffirming their potential for success beyond the confines of their current environment. Ultimately, the portfolio becomes a testament to their resilience, determination, and readiness to excel in higher education and beyond.
