My students walk into school eager to start each and every day. We start our days by spending fifteen minutes to gain focus, support students who need encouragement, and make sure we are all ready to learn from each other. Our school is K-5 and has a diverse group of students.
We have endured so much this past year, and so much has changed.
Kids have shown their resilience and learned to be flexible and to adapt. I would like to create a classroom environment that encourages their new flexible nature.
Our class is full of bright minds with great ideas waiting to be shared with the world.
My Project
We work on multiple projects throughout the year to share with our school and our community. Now that we are starting to return to in-person education, I want to help provide an amazing educational experience. My goal is to leave all of my students with a lifelong passion for learning. If my students are excited to be in the classroom, meaningful learning will be more obtainable.
I love motivating students through fun and exciting ways.
If students want to be at school, the first hurdle is conquered. One of my favorite ways to excite and motivate students is through room transformations. I love to transform the classroom into a new world that gets the kids pumped, excited, and engaged in learning. I have integrated meaningful content into thematic days like a snow day, candy land, boot camp, Jurassic Park, and so many more.
On Jurassic Park day, I turned the desks into jeeps, created a nest of dinosaur eggs, and integrated math skills, non-fiction skills, and informative writing into the day. It was one of our most memorable days.
