Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As I prepare to embark on my journey as a first-year teacher at a Title 1 school in August, I'm continuously inspired by the uniqueness and resilience of the students I will soon have the privilege to teach. By creating a calm, muted classroom, we can accommodate children who have experienced trauma, making our space welcoming and conducive to learning.

Leaf chair, cushions and flower pillow provide comfortable and flexible seating option for students.

Its muted color and leaf design contribute to a calming, stress-free environment, allowing students to focus better on their studies. Students can use these during reading sessions, group discussions, or quiet study time.

Mini whiteboards are essential tools for interactive learning. Students can use them for problem-solving activities, math exercises, and brainstorming sessions. The double-sided design and included mini erasers make them convenient for repeated use.

Compartment Caddies help keep the classroom organized. Students can store their essential supplies, such as pencils, markers, and erasers, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed within arm's reach.

The Calming Corner Classroom Posters provide students with valuable tools for understanding and managing their emotions. The feelings wheel chart and emotions poster help students identify and express their feelings, contributing to a more positive and supportive classroom.

My goals for this project are to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters academic success and emotional well-being. I want my students to feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. As a first-year teacher, I'm determined to establish a strong foundation for my teaching career by setting up my students for success, both academically and emotionally.
