The elementary school I teach at has a diverse population of students. The school is considered targeted title and provides programs to help students increase their academic needs but does little to support active physical education. My students really enjoy after school sports but wish they had more access to sporting equipment.
I have taken over the position as track coach and intramural activities coordinator at my elementary school and I am in need of supplies to allow the kids to be active and enthusiastic about moving for at least 30 minutes a day.
I am hoping to make these activities fun and engaging to provide for maximum student interest in joining the track club and/or intramural activities club.
My Project
The donations from this project will allow our track team to train like champions. Currently, our school has little to no equipment that allows the students to take advantage of our weekly trainings in preparation for track meets against other schools in our district.
The equipment that has been requested will give our students a leg up on the competition and provide them will necessary tools to feel prepared and confident in their abilities.
With the requested equipment students will be able to improve their sprints, practice their 4x4 relay, and strengthen their ball throwing skills. Our students are provided with access to materials in the classroom that allow for success and should be given the same access to resources for the track.
