Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help our classroom have looseleaf paper and pens so that we can write down important notes, work on our penmanship, and write essays. Part of my art class is learning art history. There are several important movements, styles, artists, and vocabulary words that students are being introduced to. I have different learning styles in my room. In order to accommodate all the different learning styles I try to incorporate different learning strategies. I know for me and several of my students note note-taking really helps us remember and stay engaged in the lesson.

Kids these days have a lot of screen time, and I am trying to move away from screens a bit.

I think ot is important for students to be able to express themselves with traditional tools like pen and paper. I think it's important for students to be able to figure out how to compose a sentence without the help of AI.

I also have students write papers about an artist or an art movement. They learn how to structure an essay. They learn how to create a rough draft and a final draft. They are able to work on their penmanship.

Students are also able to write about the works of art that they create. They can talk about the materials that they used and how they used them. They can state their intention behind the work. They can critique themselves, and other students can write a critique of their work.
