Traditional Classroom Furniture Is No Longer a Fit For All
My students need more options than traditional desks to complete their learning and one stability ball chair, two stand-up desks, five go anywhere chairs, and two weighted lap pads will do just that!
Ours is a happy classroom full of considerate children! We start each day singing our way through morning meeting where children are encouraged to share videos and pictures of their accomplishments outside of the classroom with us. We all cheer one another on both in and out of the room!
There is a construction sign on our classroom door that reads "Smart Children At Work" and it couldn't be more accurate.
Each day we are busy working on expanding our knowledge across the curriculum. The children are always asked to "show what they know" in fun interesting ways. If you were to walk by the room some common phrases you would here include:

Our school is a regional school and is losing more and more funding by the state each year. Our budgets have been cut repeatedly and this year is no exception. I spend much of my own money on classroom supplies. However, this year there are some more expensive items that I know will be valuable additions to our classroom. This is why I am turning to DonorsChoose.
My Project
It's a fact, students are getting more wiggly. Year after year, I have students that prefer to stand while working and end up hunched over their desks as they work. Two stand-up desks will contribute to the productivity and posture of these smart children who just need a more comfortable option. The adjustable, go anywhere chairs are perfect for those students who love to read and need a break from their hard desk chair. For those students that need a little extra pressure to allow them to participate in circle time or on the rug, the weighted lap pads are perfect! Let's not forget the teacher- the chair ball will enable me to slide from desk to desk and minimize trips to the chiropractor from bending over desks to conference with my students each day.
