Toys to Encourage Student Engagement and Motivation

Help me give my students new toys to play with. Having a large variety of toys, helps to prevent satiation and encourages continued engagement. Toys like the giant marble run and the quiet books will reengage my students.

My Project

I teach early childhood special education to students with significant delays in communication and play skills. Most of my students come to me demonstrating little to no engagement with toys. One of the goals of my program is to teach students independent play skills. Research shows that students who have meaningful engagement in play, make more progress overall than their peers who have limited play skills.

I'm requesting building blocks, wooden blocks, board books and more.

As the end of the year approaches, many students have lost interest in the toys they enjoyed playing with at the beginning of the year. Having a larger variety of toys will allow me to rotate toys in and out throughout the school year, preventing satiation and encouraging more engagement.

Additionally, I am requesting some basic supplies that need to be replenished. Items like cardstock and glitter are running out. and essential tools like kid friendly hole punches need replacing.
