Help me give my students new Picasso tiles that work together. We have some but not enough for the students to really build what they want. The magnetic people will be an exciting addition for their building.
I am returning to early childhood preschool after being a K-5 special education teacher for 25 years. After spending half a year with my students we are having so much fun learning and growing together!
My students and I are enjoying our learning journey in our full inclusion preschool program.
Typical and special needs students ages 3 to 4 years old learn together and from each other. The students learn social skills, communication skills, and academic readiness skills through large group and small group instruction.
Learning through play is an important component of our program. The program serves a morning class and an afternoon class of 15 students each. It's a joy to watch the children make connections with peers and their learning.
My Project
Many of the items will help students engage in developing play skills such as sharing and cooperative play during our centers time. For example, the magnetic tiles will be helpful when we have our unit about structures and building things. Student will be able to work and play together making a plan and building while also working on their social skills.
One of our priorities in our class is social skill.
The Lego animal game will be used through structured play that encourages the children to practice the social skills they've learned in a real situation.
We will often use the counting manipulatives as part of arrival time activities and games, sorting and making patterns.
