My Students

We have around 750 students who range from kindergarten to 5th grade, and that includes approximately 150 special needs students. Our Title I school has about 85% free and reduced-price lunch recipients.

My passion is to provide our students with a welcoming art room where each one can explore art mediums and processes that they may never have the opportunity to use outside of this program.

My students enjoy listening and looking at pictures of art and artist that inspire us in the art room. Art is not just about drawing. Their eyes light up when they hear that we will be painting or creating with clay.

My Project

Kids love to come to art class! It's messy, creative, and fun! We have 6 full classes of art everyday (except Wednesday). We paint and glue on a weekly basis and our projects have very little time to dry before the next class arrives. Having a large, spring loaded drying rack not only saves table and counter space, but gives our artwork a place to dry without getting stuck on top of someone else's work or paint being smudged. The spring loaded rack allows students to be able to pull down a shelf by themselves and fill it without touching other students' artwork. When art work is dry, the shelves fold up and is a space saver. With your support, our class projects will be neater and dry faster and our students will have masterpieces that they can be proud of!
