it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher in a high-poverty area. Our school is located in Queens. My students face many challenges both in school and at home. Now, with Covid, those challenges have become even greater. Many students have faced the reality that they have to learn at home. Helping provide our classroom with a touch screen computer will better enable me to reach my students in an interactive way, whether they are in the building, or at home learning asynchronously.
My Project
This touch screen computer will allow my students to use a computer without the struggle that comes from using a mouse. As special needs students, they have a hard time maneuvering a mouse and need to be able to touch their choice of answers for easier experiences. My students will be able to take tests and use computer programs like DT trainer and Education.com to enhance learning.
A touch screen computer will give my students the ability to use a computer without getting frustrated because the mouse doesn't go where they want it to go for our STEM activities.
It will also let them get more answers correct because they can touch the answer and not have to worry about hand and eye coordination.
