Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I've been teaching Kindergarten for many years, and I use the number poems for my students to memorize the numbers up to 10. My challenge has been teaching numbers from 11 to 30.
A lot of my Kindergarten students didn't attend preschool and started the year not knowing much.
Now that we are half way through the year, my students have learned so much. They know almost all the letters and the sounds. However, I found out that a lot of them are still struggling in math with number recognitions.
My Project
With this new Interactive Whiteboard program from TouchMath, I will be able to give my Kindergarten students daily practice to give them a stronger foundation. These hands-on numerals will give my students the opportunity to feel a 3D numeral while touching the number of dots that correspond to the numeral. With the entertaining and interactive technology added to the program, this hands-on learning will compliment and enhance the math curriculum already in place.
Please consider supporting my project.
This program will benefit many students this year and many more to come. I want my students to have access to instruction that is multi-sensory, dynamic, and motivating. The students will not only learn to master the number concepts but have so much fun!
