My project needs TouchNumerals with TouchPoints, TouchMath Student Number Cards, Lacing Letters and Numbers, and the Crayola Dough Set of 6 Colors.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hohns's classroom raised $208
This project is fully funded
I teach a cross categorical kindergarten class. Every year I work with twelve self contained students and a number of resource students. The students arrive to school with a variety of strengths and needs. No two students are the same, and for that reason I use a variety of methods to teach early learning skills and concepts.
I have found that tactile, kinesthetic activities are beneficial to students and TouchMath is designed for touching "touch points" on numerals 1-9. I would like to have two dimensional numbers with touch points to put on and take off. Handling the touch points and adding them to touch numerals will provide another activity for number identification acquisition and developing one to one correspondence, and number sense. Using play dough to create and shape numbers, as well as, lacing numbers cards would provide additional opportunities for my exceptional students to feel and remember the shapes of numbers and develop a solid number sense.
I appreciate your consideration of this grant request and am confident that touch numbers with touch points will assist my students with number identification, one to one correspondence and a developing number sense.
