Hi, I support seven cross categorical kindergarten teachers who work with 10-13 students with disabilities each and a total of 36 schools in my district. I am fortunate to have ongoing opportunities to model best practices for social skills instruction and meeting the unique needs of students with developmental disabilities and autism. These students come to school with a variety of strengths and weaknesses but most importantly they come willing to learn and ready to have fun. Exceptional kindergarten students often have many hurdles to clear in the total school environment and learning school behaviors and socially appropriate forms of communication and participation is vital to their success.
