This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have wanted a therapy garden at our school site forever! We have over 750 students from all backgrounds, and garden spaces with fruit, vegetables, and flowers throughout our site can help build a sense of home, comfort, and responsibility.

School gardens are associated with higher test scores among some students as well as increased science knowledge and engagement among participating students.

Children love having things that they feel responsible for, and nature helps all of us to feel connected and calmer.
