Some students in my class are still developing their fine motor skills. For those who struggle, a touch-screen laptop is easier to use instead of a touchpad.
Many of our district assignments are online, starting at kindergarten, and learning to type and manipulate the touchpad is not an easy task for them to do.
For example, students have to drag math manipulatives online or select answers. Students need to learn to maneuver a touchpad to move these online images. If students are not good at fine motor skills, it is not easy to use a touchpad.
This touch-screen laptop will allow students to touch the images with their fingers and drag them easily. That will give more accessibility to every student.
