This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
How many more do I need to get to 10? What do these two numbers add up to? How long is this stick? Counting, adding, and all mathematical problem-solving (shapes and measurement) are all important skills we use daily throughout our lives. This is why we need engaging math manipulatives to help us develop these essential abilities.
These magnetic tins will allow my students to develop skills in numbers, counting, addition, measurement, and shapes.
As students reason about math situations or problems and collaboratively discuss their math thinking, they develop communication skills, sharpen their mathematical reasoning, and enhance their social awareness. By doing so, I would allow those students who are strong in math to work together with other students.
