My Project

I teach an energetic and curious group of second graders in a small, rural community. My students thrive on hands-on learning and are always eager to engage with new ideas—especially when the lessons are interactive and fun. However, our access to up-to-date technology is limited, and it's becoming more important than ever to give my students the tools they need to grow academically and socially in today’s world.

A SMART Board would be an amazing tool to bring the content in my lessons to life for my students.

A SMART Board would transform how we learn together. With this interactive technology, I can lead dynamic whole-group lessons that bring math, science, and literacy concepts to life. Instead of just hearing about addition, my students can come up to the board and manipulate numbers themselves. Reading lessons can become interactive stories where students highlight key details and vocabulary in real time. Small group instruction will also be elevated, giving me the flexibility to tailor activities for different learners and foster collaboration. Science concepts can be taken to a whole new level by allowing students to watch and manipulate objects with interactive models.

Many of my students don't have access to digital learning tools outside of school. This SMART Board would be a powerful way to close that gap and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background. Whether it’s solving math problems together, engaging in interactive STEM projects and ideas, or exploring new books and texts, this tool would make learning more engaging, inclusive, and fun.
