My Students
My students are curious little problem solvers! They are 5-6 years old and part of a culturally diverse and dynamic classroom. They are risk takers who learn from mistakes and enjoy encouraging their peers to succeed. They not only love learning from direct instruction but love to observe, investigate and demonstrate their understanding of content all by themselves! They devour new games, love to be challenged, and enjoy various types of materials. They learn best by doing and by using hands-on materials.
My Project
In Kindergarten, there is a lot of stuff. Managing and organizing stuff is hard, and teaching young children to be responsible with their stuff is an important life skill. These book totes will house student work, books, and supplies. We have round tables, not desks, so finding a way to store materials is a challenge. These totes allow for flexible seating, the totes travel with the child wherever they may be working in the classroom. They will be used daily and for years to come. Hopefully these totes will be "totally" awesome and help us stay learning, stay organized, and stay tidy too!
