Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have created a special closet to support our students' needs with clothing and accessories so they feel comfortable to participate to their fullest potential in all school activities. Our school serves a diverse community with diverse needs. Through donations from families, staff and the local organizations we are able to provide the basic necessities for the cold weather so as many students as possible can participate in winter and cold activities. We are able to help students with clothing as they grow and may not have access to.

In addition to warm clothes for the cold weather, we are able to provide a change of clothing when accidents, spills or falls occur.

With the many items we have in so many different sizes we need cabinets to organize and store our items. Our Toro Closet has been a great help to our families who may not have the opportunity or the means to provide these items. When students feel taken care of and equipped with the right tools/clothing, they know they can conquer event the simplest of challenges.
