This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
You are guaranteed to leave with a smile after a visit to our room due to the infectious nature of 26 energized kindergartners.
You can't help but smile at their desire to learn and help others throughout the process.
Their small bodies have some of the biggest hearts I have ever encountered and remind me to appreciate the small successes as much as the big accomplishments. This project would help keep cultivating and maintain a lifelong love of reading, writing, and curiosity for learning!
My Project
What happens in kindergarten lasts a lifetime, especially when it comes to reading foundations. There is a science to teaching reading and the IMSE professional development will train me with the multi-sensory, structured approach to provide the quality reading instruction for students with dyslexia and all students deserve. I have read the research independently for years and would love the opportunity to be trained in it by experts. This DonorsChoose project will help fund the rest of the balance for the training.
My goal is to teach reading effectively so that every student has a love of reading and has the skills to be confident in it as well.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
