My Project
My students love new musical experiences, and I try to offer them as much as I can. However, when they leave me and go to middle school, the only musical class they can take is band.
We don't own any brass instruments, but with these horns, my students can get a jump-start on learning how to play a brass instrument.
In elementary school, my students have the opportunity to learn string instruments like violin and ukulele, piano, recorders, and a wide variety of percussion instruments. This project would fill the gap of no brass instruments.
"Real" brass instruments are expensive; these jHorns provide a more practical approach to including brass instruction in elementary school. In addition, the horns are smaller and lighter, allowing younger students to play a brass instrument at an earlier age.
I think it's important for students to have as many musical experiences as possible in elementary and middle school, because I want them to realize that music will be an important part of their life whether they become a doctor, lawyer, farmer, or symphony musician. Won't you help me in making this dream a reality?
