My Students

My students are great kids and are ready to take on new challenges. They have learned so much in recent years, and we are ready to explore art, comic books, and TOONS projects in a hands-on way. My students love researching projects in an in-depth way. They love finding background information for their projects and are only limited by their access to supplies. They are eager students that love art and getting more information about what they are working on. The excitement they bring to class keeps me going.

My Project

This project will include students getting in small groups and working together to make comic books about books they read in class. They will use these books to design and practice various comic bookmaking techniques. The students will be required research and develop a series of comic books sort of like book reports except in comic book form.

Students will use this opportunity to get hands-on training in designing, drawing, and writing comic books.

The various concepts will help to further my students' understanding of how to combine art with writing in hopes of creating more beautiful work in the future.
