My Project

My students NEED to be engaged in their math learning. Students will play with the counters and use the number dice for many different math games. These games are going to help to engage my students in their learning. 1st graders LOVE playing games and they LOVE learning. When possible, I try to incorporate a game into daily learning so that they are on task, focused and motivated to learn the skills.

These math manipulatives will help my young learners grasp abstract concepts by providing concrete, tangible experiences, promoting active engagement, enhancing understanding, and facilitating problem-solving skills development.

I will use these to engage my students in various math activities, including counting, sorting, matching, building shapes, measuring, adding, subtracting, and problem-solving. These hands-on activities will promote active learning and help solidify mathematical concepts in a concrete way.

My goal for my 1st graders using these math manipulatives would be to foster a deep understanding of foundational mathematical concepts, promote problem-solving skills, develop critical thinking abilities, and cultivate a positive attitude towards mathematics through engaging, hands-on activities.

Mrs. Porreco will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 28.
