Tools to Thrive: Flexible Seats, Letter Fun, and Writing Magic
Help me give my students flexible seating options that promote an inclusive and engaging classroom environment. Letter manipulatives along with writing tools will provide hands-on support for emerging readers and writers.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our kindergarten classroom is a vibrant and diverse group of young learners who bring joy, curiosity, and a love of learning into our room each day. As a Title I school, many of our families face financial hardships and are unable to provide essential school supplies for their children. Despite these obstacles, our students show up ready to learn and grow—proving every day that potential is not defined by circumstance.
These amazing students are developing strong growth mindsets, learning to embrace challenges, and becoming more independent with every new skill they master.
They are filled with questions, ideas, and an eagerness to explore the world around them. To support their learning journey, we’re hoping to create an inclusive and flexible classroom environment. Flexible seating options will allow students to choose where and how they work best—whether it’s a cozy floor cushion, a wobble stool, or a low table—helping them stay focused, comfortable, and engaged.
We also need hands-on materials like letter manipulatives and writing tools to strengthen early literacy skills. These resources will support their development in letter recognition, phonics, and fine motor skills—laying a strong foundation for reading and writing success.
