My Project
The specific items I am requesting will make a difference in their learning by providing them with quality writing materials to share their thinking. The use of different dry erase colors and colored pencils allow students to align mathematical concepts with a different color to help make connections. Many of my students arrive to class without something to write with and need to borrow a pencil. While I do receive some funds from our PTSA, it is insufficient to cover the costs of materials that students should have access to and have paid for these, and other items, out of my own pocket.
My goal is to provide quality items to help elicit student thinking, and to allow students make their mathematical thinking visible to their peers so they more easily make connections to different ways of thinking about mathematics.
Most of my students are economically disadvantaged, are primarily BIPOC, and many are multi-language learners. They are amazing and deserve the best. Thank you.
