My Students

The second grade students at my school are a unique group of children. They come from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. These students also have very diverse learning needs. We come from the largest elementary school in our city with over 700 students.

Second graders love school and enjoy learning new things.

My students are hard working, fun-loving kids. I wish for them to have the same opportunities as children in more privileged school districts. Given the chance, every child can soar!

My Project

My students and I hope to use these table top, magnetic whiteboards during both math and reading groups. We can use math tools like magnetic base-10 blocks and coins and magnetic letters on the board during reading group.

The comfy seat cushions will allow students a softer seat during their independent reading center time.

Who doesn't love to get comfortable while they enjoy a good book?!

During writer's workshop my students have a variety of writing paper to choose from. We desperately need a way to organize the stacks of colored paper we have available.

Student desk name-tags can be a valuable tool for learners. These name-tags will not only model correct casing and letter formation for each child's name, but they also include several other helpful resources such as hundreds charts, number lines and alphabet strips.
