My Project
Students often face significant anxiety in the classroom, which can stem from various sources such as academic pressures, social interactions, or sensory overload. Fidgets and other tools can play a crucial role in managing this anxiety. Fidgets provide a physical outlet for excess energy and can help improve focus and concentration by keeping students' hands busy. This tactile stimulation can be particularly beneficial for students with ADHD or sensory processing issues, as it allows them to self-regulate and stay engaged with their work. By having something to manipulate, students can channel their anxiety into a repetitive, calming activity, reducing their overall stress levels.
In addition to fidgets, tools like noise-canceling headphones and glasses designed to block fluorescent lighting can create a more comfortable learning environment for students with sensory sensitivities.
Noise-canceling headphones help to minimize background noise, which can be distracting and overwhelming, allowing students to concentrate better on their tasks. Similarly, blue light glasses that block harsh fluorescent lighting can prevent visual overstimulation, which is often a trigger for anxiety and headaches. By mitigating these sensory triggers, such tools enable students to feel more at ease and focused, fostering a more inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere where all students can thrive.
