I teach second grade in a Title I school. I have 20 students, nine girls, and eleven boys. Six of my students are on an individualized education plan and benefit from extra support in the classroom.
My students come into the classroom each day with tons of energy and excitement.
They are a busy group of kids with diverse needs that have kept me on my toes this school year. My students' favorite classroom activities include reading, singing silly educational songs I find to help them remember key concepts, STEM projects, and most recently -- writing!

For the first time in my career, my students are enjoying writing and I am enjoying teaching it!
Our district adopted a wonderful writing curriculum this year that has even my lowest students excited and engaged in the writing process. Our curriculum uses a lot of chart paper for teaching the writing process to students. Currently, I have to tear off chunks of bulletin board paper from large rolls. It would be extremely helpful to have actual chart paper and an easel to work with, instead of hundreds of magnets that slip and slide on my whiteboard!
My students also struggle with writing on typical notebook paper and would benefit tremendously from primary lined writing paper. Within our curriculum, we also use a lot of sticky notes to teach indentation, etc. I am constantly running out and having to buy more. The writing process folders would help them to keep their work organized throughout the process. We would hopefully have less lost papers!
