This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There is something special about my students. I work in an urban district where the majority of my students come from low-income families. A quality education is what my students need in order to build promising careers for themselves and a brighter future for all of us.

My students are passionate about learning and becoming better readers despite their economic hardship.

My students work hard and show up excited to learn every single day. They deserve access to the best resources to be successful!

My Project

These materials will provide my students with the access to become better readers. The headphones and listening center is used for children to read along independently or with a partner. These materials will support my students with building fluency as well as support them with decoding new words. The kidney table will allow me the access to conference with my students during guided reading. Each child has different needs and a kidney table allows me the opportunity to meet and assist each individual student to help them meet their specific goals as readers.

By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student interest in reading and build their fluency, but you will continuously increase their academic achievement and love for reading.
