My Students

I work with a wide variety of students in the special education program. My students have motor and sensory differences that make learning to write challenging.

My students benefit from a multisensory approach to address their challenges.

When working with more severe disabilities, I help my students utilize technology to accommodate for these disabilities and allow them to participate in the school environment with their peers.

My Project

Technology can be used in so many ways when teaching written expression. From multisensory apps to motivational games to accommodative typing programs, technology is a necessary tool for teaching students at all levels.

My students will benefit from having access to a tool that is able to meet their sensory needs, provide learning opportunities that engage multiple senses, and allow them to find their most effective form of written communication.

This project will support a wide range of skill development. It will help my pre-writers engage in motivating activities to build the skills they need to form prewriting strokes. It will help my writers strengthen and build on their writing skills. It will help my non-writers find successful ways to express their thoughts using technology.
