Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a high poverty neighborhood where more than 75% of them receive free or reduced-price lunch and come from varied home structures. The community is diverse coming from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, with a large portion being Hispanic, Punjabi, and African American. Also, we have a large population of English Language Learners. With such a diverse community it is expected to have a wide range of personal, social, emotional and educational needs when compared to schools that serve a more unvarying population.

My Project
Technology is a piece of learning that is vital in today's world. Our students our introduced to technology early on, beginning in kindergarten. Through a series of several donations our class currently has 1:1 tablets! We use them to listen to stories, practice math skills, practice our high frequency and sight words, learn about basic coding...the list continues.
Help me bring my students into the current century .
This project will help with the security and organization of our personal devices. This cart also allows me to lock the tablets to keep them safe and secure. Headphones are a constant need, as most parents do not have the sufficient funds to provide headphones for their child. Children learn through different modalities, and technology is a piece of their learning experience.
