Help me give my students a counseling center that has the appropriate tools to support them during their middle school experiences.

My Project

Two years ago we revamped the seating in our counseling center and changed the way our space flowed and was used. This year we have 40 kids we work with each week on social skills, executive functioning, and academics and we try to make it as fun and engaging as possible while still learning. We have found this is an expensive venture but the results are worth it. These tools can and will be used 1:1, small group and large group for several years to come. We are finding the lights to be very effective for heping with concentration and focus as well and would like to offer them in more areas of the school. The issue we are running into is not enough tools for those rough times (Jan. and Feb. for mental health) so we have decided to start with therapeutic tools and games.

As educators we know flexibility is key and to be ready for multiple situations and needs.

This list is not all that we will need but rather a start in a more effective counseling department for our building.
