My students are required to spend 45 minutes each week using the iReady program to get help in areas of math and reading where they struggle. With the requested headphones we can provide students with the quiet environment needed to listen carefully and also block out distractions. While doing the iReady reading they are required to listen to several short stories or examples and then answer a series of questions. In math they are given several verbal examples and explanations. This is virtually impossible when they do not have headphones and cannot listen to their lessons before taking a quiz. Several of our students have not been able to afford comfortable headphones that allow them to focus on their online content and often resort to dollar store earbuds which frequently break, stop working, or hurt the student's ears.
