This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 18 amazing students in a Title I school. Most of our students come from hard-working families who try their best to provide their children with the tools they need. However, many times we have to help them at school with the supplies as well. Our students have limited experiences beyond their neighborhoods. They don't always have access to visiting the library or technology resources at home. At school, they know they have a safe, caring environment where they can learn and get the help they need. They love coming to school because they feel "at home" knowing they have teachers who care and want the best for them.
My Project
I am requesting classroom supplies such as pencils, colored pencils, colored paper, dry erase markers and dry erase boards as well as incentive items for our classroom. My scholars need these supplies to make their learning fun and low stress.
Having basic supplies allow my students to feel confident and ready to tackle the school day.
I always believed in giving my students the supplies they need to learn. As second graders, they should not have to worry about whether they have the right materials at the start of a lesson. Through this project, I can provide my students with tools for learning easily. This will build their confidence and allow our lessons to run smoothly.
