This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever tried to do a job, but been frustrated because you didn't have the tools you needed? The job of learning requires many tools and unfortunately my students will not have access to some of the tools they need without your generosity.

I generally have a very diverse group of students.

This upcoming year, I will have students whose families come from Mexico, India, the Philippines, Korea, and various parts of the United States. Thirteen of them are English language learners (ten speak Spanish, two Punjabi, and one Korean.) Most of my students come from working class families whose parents have a difficult time providing them with the learning tools they need. According to their first grade teachers, they are hard workers and extremely eager to learn.

My Project

The tools I am requesting will facilitate and enrich my students' learning. Being organized can be a key to success. For this reason, I would like my students to have binders to help them keep their work in order. The other tools I have asked for will be a daily asset to my students in their learning. They will use the dry erase boards to practice spelling and math skills; they will use the rulers to learn how to measure in standard and metric units; and the read-along books will entertain them while helping them become better readers.

Your donations will help provide powerful and effective tools that will facilitate my students' learning.

My students will use these tools on a daily basis to better their reading, writing, math, and organizational skills. I thank you in advance for your generosity!
