Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am lucky to teach an amazing group of 4th grade students in a dual language classroom at a Title I school. My students are bright, curious, and eager to learn every day. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring so much energy and creativity to our classroom community.
One challenge we face is making sure every student has the basic supplies they need to be successful.
Many of our families work hard but may not always have the resources to provide all the school essentials. I want to ensure that every student starts the year with the same set of high-quality supplies—so no one feels left out or unprepared.
With your support, I am requesting pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, scissors, erasers, highlighters, pens, pencil sharpeners, dry erase markers and erasers, and sturdy pencil pouches. Each student will receive the same materials to keep in their own pencil box, and we’ll set clear expectations for taking care of their supplies and staying organized. This promotes accountability and responsibility while also removing the financial burden from our families.
These resources will not only support their daily work in reading, writing, math, science, and art, but also help foster independence and pride in their learning. Having all the right tools from day one will allow my students to focus on what really matters—growing their skills and confidence.
