Tools for Success: Empowering 21st-Century Learners in Science
Help me give my students essential classroom supplies to support hands-on, collaborative, and 21st-century learning experiences for my 9th grade integrated science students.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are 9th graders from the Hartford Public School District, a diverse and energetic urban community where many families face economic challenges. Despite these hardships, my students come to class ready to learn and full of curiosity. They are bright, determined, and full of potential. What makes them special is their resilience and eagerness to engage with the world around them especially through science.
This DonorsChoose project will provide essential supplies like pencils, erasers, whiteboards for small group instruction, stopwatches, food coloring for experiments, and classroom management tools.
These items may seem small, but they make a big impact on student learning and engagement. My goal is to create a dynamic, hands-on learning environment that aligns with 21st-century teaching practices encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. With these resources, my classroom will become a place where students can explore, experiment, and take ownership of their learning journey.
