My students learn best when using interactive pieces to manipulate words. They will use the Sight-Word Sentence Puzzles to create words found within the puzzles. They will learn new sight words as they use them to build sentences. This will reinforce their automaticity with sight word recognition. The alphabet sound tubs provide objects for them recognize as they learn initial sounds. This will help them with their spelling skills. The Match Sort Vocabulary Quickies will also increase their vocabulary knowledge by having access to pictures. These pictures will make that learning concrete.
These educational games and puzzles will also provide them with the opportunity to interact and have conversations naturally.
English as a second language learner requires all four modalities of learning. All students will internalize their knowledge when all their senses are activated. Board games and puzzles like the ones I am asking for will give them an avenue to relate to and will give them a chance to practice their new language in an interactive and fun environment. These puzzles and games will also help maintain their attention.
