My Project
I am aiming to bring the Science of Reading alive for the clever and motivated students at my school. I want to add an iPad, word mapping tools, and decodable texts to my instruction that promote early literacy success for these K-2 students.
These items will help build my students' phonemic/phonological awareness and phonics through hands-on and digital experiences.
As the research suggests, it is crucial to help students "learn the code" in grades K-2, so they are "reading to learn" in the higher primary grades. These tools will help my students become strategic readers who are able to decode and comprehend.
